ARCHITECTURAL PROJECTS
Residential
1) SKAMP RESIDENCE, BEATTY AVENUE, VICTORIA PARK - (2010)
Inner-city 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom dwelling accessed off a rear lane. Client was interested in exploring the benefits of volume and scale. To this end, he was prepared to build a smaller house incorporating, among other things, a dramatic 6m high ceiling in the main living area.
2) RENOVATION & EXTENSION, HILTON - (2017)
Modest renovation and extension of a 1930's weatherboard located in a heritage area of Hilton. The client was looking to take full advantage of the view of the garden from the relocated main living areas and terrace. This involved re-orientating the main living area from the front of the dwelling to the rear. A small unprotected deck was replaced with a generous covered terrace overlooking the garden.
3) RATHAY STREET, VICTORIA PARK - (1996)
Triplex development comprising three 2 storey, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom executive townhouses. Units built using an emerging alternative construction system Rapidwall.
4) BOULDER STREET, EAST VICTORIA PARK - (1994)
Triplex development on a tight R40 site. Units explored the potential of loft designs by building within the roof space where possible. Resulting reduction in construction costs turned a line-ball development into a proffitable project.
5) ALBANY BELL CASTLE , MOUNT LAWLEY- (1998)
Restoration and conversion of a heritage listed landmark building originally built as a factory in the early 1900's. Building converted into 24 luxury residential apartments with separate car parking.
6) VILLAGE QUAYS, EXMOUTH - (2012)
Grouped housing site incorporating 6 x 2 storey executive canal front houses and 18 single and double storey units.
7) ARTIST STUDIO WITH GARAGE - (1998)
Albany artist Jennifer Crisps studio development above a double garage with workshop. Building was constructed several years after after the original home and as such, required a sympathetic approach.
8) RENOVATED WORKERS COTTAGE - (2016)
1920's 2 bedroom workers cottage partially gutted, renovated and converted into a modern 3 bedroom fully serviced dwelling.
WILLIAMS/JACKSON DWELLING
CAPE WILDERNESS ESTATE EXMOUTH - (2018)
Generous contemporary flexibly planned dwelling overlooking the Exmouth gulf to the East. Large open planned living/dining/kitchen space with a dramatic raking ceiling provided to facilitate entertaining large groups. 3 generous bedroom/ensuite combinations provided to accommodate visiting family and friends.
9) EXMOUTH HOLIDAY HOME(1) -(2023)
Generous canal front dwelling providing holiday accommodation for a large Perth based family. The site provided opportunities to develop canal views from the ground floor living areas and views of the Exmouth gulf to the North East, and Cape Range to the South West from the upper floor.

Commercial
1) IGA MAYLANDS REFURBISHMENT - (2017)
Alterations to the Maylands IGA including a staged refit throughout and remodled facade.
2) MARGARETS FOREST, MARGARET RIVER - (1996)
Award winning boutique serviced apartment development in Margaret River. 32 units including 10 - 1 bedroom and 22 - 2 bedroom terraces.
3) ASCOT QUAYS SERVICED APARTMENTS, ASCOT - (2005)
Multi level serviced apartment complex comprising seventy five 1,2 and 3 bedroom apartments, conference facilities and restaurant. Located on the banks of the Swan river the complex includes a gymnasium, a swimming pool and extensively landscaped grounds.
APPROVAL PROCESS
The process undertaken to gain approval for this development required significant, difficult and onerous negotiation with, among other parties, the Swan River Trust, the City of Belmont and the West Australian Planning Commission. Stephen managed this process to a successful conclusion.
