Stephen graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1985 and worked with the award-winning practice Howlett and Bailey Architects until 1988 when he travelled to London to gain experience  abroad.

On returning in 1990 Stephen gained valuable experience working for the large state government department, Westrail, before joining a small boutique property development company City and Suburban Group in Perth in late 1991.

Stephen managed the Architectural division of City and Suburban Group until 2014.  During this period Stephen designed, documented and managed the construction of a number of projects including the following:

Triplex and multi-unit developments in metropolitan Perth

Tourism resort developments in Margaret River including Margarets Forest

Multi-storey serviced apartment development in Ascot

Conversion of the heritage-listed Albany Bell Castle into residential apartments

Mixed use canal subdivision in Exmouth

                                                        Grouped housing developments in Exmouth                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Stephen established his private practice in 2014 and has undertaken a range of projects including small scale residential alterations, additions and new dwellings.
